About 10th Planet & Jiu Jitsu

10th Planet Jiu Jitsu is a No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu system developed by Eddie Bravo, a student of legendary Grand Master Jean Jacques Machado. It focuses entirely on No-Gi grappling with techniques like the Rubber Guard, the Truck, and the Twister — built for MMA, submission wrestling, and real-world self-defense.

Gi Jiu Jitsu uses the traditional kimono and allows grips on the jacket and pants. No-Gi uses athletic clothing and tends to be faster paced. At 10th Planet Oakland we train exclusively No-Gi.
