Jonny Mezheritskiy Wins 2024 IBJJF European No-Gi Championship

10th Planet Oakland’s Jonny Mezheritskiy captured gold at the 2024 IBJJF European No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu Championship, becoming an IBJJF European Champion.

Competing as a juvenile blue belt, Jonny reached the top of the podium and added one of the biggest international titles of his young career.

The European Championship marked another major milestone for Jonny, who began his Jiu Jitsu journey as a young athlete at 10th Planet Oakland before quickly progressing into the adult program.

Training under 10th Planet Oakland founder and head coach Michael Hillebrand, Jonny has spent years developing his Jiu Jitsu while continually seeking out increasingly difficult competition.

From competing against older and more experienced athletes to winning championship belts while undersized for his divisions, Jonny’s progression has been built around technical development and continually raising the level of competition.

Now that progression includes an IBJJF European No-Gi Championship.

Jonny’s journey from a young student at 10th Planet Oakland to an international champion is a great example of where long-term development, hard work and high-level coaching can lead.
