Jonny Mezheritskiy Wins 150-Lb Purple Belt Championship at The Mat Showdown

10th Planet Oakland’s Jonny Mezheritskiy added another championship to his growing résumé, becoming the new 150-lb Purple Belt Champion at The Mat Showdown.

Jonny captured the title from reigning champion Joshua Tuman, adding another championship belt to a competition career that has continued to accelerate.

The victory also marked a new chapter for Jonny as a purple belt, following championship runs and major accomplishments earlier in his development.

Training under 10th Planet Oakland founder and head coach Michael Hillebrand, Jonny has continued to seek increasingly difficult competition while building his game around technical development and constant progression.

Massive respect to Joshua Tuman for carrying the championship and continuing to push the level of competition.
