10th Planet Oakland Coach Anthony Ancheta Wins Gold at IBJJF San Jose Open

10th Planet Oakland coach Anthony “Cheta” Ancheta started 2024 with a strong competition performance, capturing gold at the IBJJF San Jose Open on January 21.

Competing at blue belt, Coach Cheta took the top spot in his division and added another championship result to the 10th Planet Oakland competition team’s growing record.

Anthony brings a strong wrestling background to 10th Planet Oakland and serves as one of the academy’s morning wrestling coaches. He works with students on takedowns, wrestling fundamentals, positional control and the ability to connect the standing game with no-gi Jiu Jitsu.

His performance at the San Jose Open reflects something we value throughout the coaching staff at 10th Planet Oakland: coaches who continue to train, compete and test their skills alongside the athletes they teach.
