Five Women Black Belts Share the Mats at 10th Planet Oakland

Five women black belts—Jenna Adrienne, Cassia Paixao, Bre Stikk, Judith “Judy” Gomez, and Tess—come together on the mats at 10th Planet Oakland.

Jenna Adrienne, Cassia Paixao, Bre Stikk, Judith “Judy” Gomez, and Tess shared the mats at 10th Planet Oakland—five women black belts together for a training session worth celebrating.

Each brings her own experience and perspective to jiu jitsu. Having them together is an opportunity to exchange ideas, challenge one another, and keep learning.

Experience Worth Sharing

For women starting jiu jitsu, seeing experienced women on the mats can help them picture what’s possible. A black belt takes years of practice and persistence, and every one of these women was once a beginner.

For experienced grapplers, having other women black belts to train with is valuable in its own right. There’s always another detail to explore, a different approach to work through, or something to learn from a training partner.

Thank you, Jenna, Cassia, Bre, Judy, and Tess, for sharing the mats with us. We’re glad to have this moment as part of our academy’s story.
