Caio Terra and PJ Barch Visit 10th Planet Oakland

Caio Terra and PJ Barch joined Michael Hillebrand at 10th Planet Oakland for another day of training, sharing ideas and exchanging Jiu Jitsu.
Although Terra leads his own affiliation, he and Hillebrand have maintained a longtime friendship and training relationship across team lines. Over the years, Terra has been a friend, training partner and mentor to Hillebrand while also sharing knowledge and helping support the continued development of Jiu Jitsu at 10th Planet Oakland.
PJ Barch, Hillebrand and Terra have also spent years training together and exchanging ideas, bringing different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to the mat.
That exchange is an important part of the philosophy at 10th Planet Oakland.
Jiu Jitsu never stops evolving. Staying at the forefront requires more than simply teaching the same material year after year. It means continuing to train, study, test ideas and learn from other high-level competitors and coaches — even when they come from different teams or affiliations.
Terra, Barch and Hillebrand have each followed their own paths in Jiu Jitsu, but their friendship and willingness to share information allows all three to continue learning from one another.
Those conversations and training sessions ultimately make their way back to the athletes they coach, creating a continuous cycle of learning, testing and refinement.
For 10th Planet Oakland, having relationships like these has helped create an environment where the coaches remain students themselves — constantly looking for better answers and new ways to improve.
Different teams. Different perspectives. Three friends and training partners brought together by the same goal: keep learning and keep pushing Jiu Jitsu forward.
